Area: 549 sq km (212 sq miles). Population: 151,968 (1999). Population Density: 276.8 per sq km. Capital: Agaña. Tamuning is the commercial centre. Population: 1139 (1990). GEOGRAPHY: Guam is the largest and most southerly island of the Marianas archipelago.
